About Us
Slipdragon.com is a head to head video competition for extreme sports in which the community picks the winners. The competition has four rounds.
- 1st Round
- In the 1st round, the competition engine runs cycles matching competitors based on skill level. Each round contains multiple cycles.
- In each cycle every video is voted on once then the next cycle begins. At the beginning of each cycle, each competitor will be pitted against another competitor who has done as well (or poorly) as him or herself in the last cycle.
- ยง Ex. If after the 5th cycle a competitor won 4/5 then in the 6th cycle they will be pitted against another competitor who won 4/5.
- At the end of the 1st Round the top 50 % advance to the 2nd Round and the bottom 50% get one more chance to make it to the final Round by competing in the Last Chance Qualifier Round (LCQ).
- 2nd Round
- In the 2nd Round, again the competition engine runs cycles matching competitors based on skill level, each competitor will be pitted against another competitor who has done as well (or poorly) as him or herself in the last cycle, and each round contains multiple cycles.
- At the end of the 2nd Round the top 50% advance to the Final Round and the bottom 50 % get one more chance to make it to the Final Round by competing in the LCQ Round.
- LCQ Round
- Before the Final Round starts, the LCQ Round runs. The LCQ Round is composed of competitors who fell in the third quartile of the 1st Round and the bottom half of the 2nd Round.
- The LCQ Round is a knockout round in which a competitor is eliminated if they lose once. Again, the competition engine matches based on skill level. This time, however, competitors are matched against their opposite. Therefore, a competitor who has done well is pitted against a competitor who has done poorly.
- Competitors in the top 50 % move into the Final Round at the end of the LCQ Round.
- Final Round
- The Final Round is a modified knockout Round in which a competitor is eliminated if they lose three times. Again, the competition engine matches based on skill level, competitors are matched against their opposite.
